El Laboratorio Sacromonte is a unique photo-studio specialized in 19th century photography. We wish to recuperate the old craft of image-making.
Our photo-studio is inside a cave in the heart of Sacromonte , the historic gipsy quarter of Granada with a vivid flamenco scene.
We offer private portrait sessions with wet plate collodion, one of the oldest photographic processes, invented in 1851.
This technique is entirely handcrafted and delivers images of outstanding quality. We work with vintage cameras and mix our chemistry following historical formulas. You will be invited to witness the developing process inside the photographic darkroom and experience the alchemy of 19th century photography.
Take home a one-of-a-kind portrait, carefully elaborated before your eyes and brought into the world to last for hundreds of years.
